About Shady Spots Cat Ranch

Shady Spots Cat Ranch is a home-based TICA registered Bengal kitten breeder located in Silver Springs, Nevada, owned and operated by Dawn DeLay. We raise Bengal kittens in a family home environment with a focus on health, temperament, and responsible breeding practices.

This website is informational. It is intended to help prospective kitten buyers learn about our available kittens, our breeding program, and our adoption process before reaching out to inquire.

Website Use

You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. You may not:

• Submit false or misleading information through our inquiry or contact forms
• Use this website to gather information for competing or commercial purposes without permission
• Copy, reproduce, or redistribute content, photos, or text from this website without written permission from Dawn DeLay
• Attempt to access, disrupt, or interfere with the technical operation of this website

All photos on this website are owned by Dawn DeLay or were taken at Shady Spots Cat Ranch. They may not be used, reposted, or reproduced without express written permission.

Kitten Availability

Kitten listings displayed on this website represent our best current information at the time of publishing. Availability can change quickly. A kitten shown as available may have already been reserved by the time you submit an inquiry.

Submitting an inquiry or joining a waiting list does not guarantee placement, availability, or priority. A kitten is considered reserved only after a deposit has been received and both parties have confirmed the reservation in writing.

Deposits and Reservations

When a kitten is reserved, a deposit will be required to hold the kitten. Deposit details, amounts, and payment methods will be communicated directly during the inquiry process.

Deposits are generally non-refundable except in cases where Shady Spots Cat Ranch is unable to fulfill the reservation due to circumstances on our end, such as the kitten not passing a health check or an unforeseen litter issue. In such cases, a full refund of the deposit will be issued.

If a buyer cancels a reservation after the deposit has been paid, the deposit may be forfeited. All deposit terms will be confirmed in writing before payment is made.

Health Guarantee

Shady Spots Cat Ranch provides a written health guarantee with every kitten. The terms of the health guarantee are detailed on our Health Guarantee page.

The health guarantee covers congenital and genetic conditions detected within the specified guarantee period. It does not cover illness, injury, or conditions arising after the kitten leaves our care that are not related to genetics.

To activate any health guarantee claim, the buyer must have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup or delivery. Failure to complete this initial exam may void the guarantee.

Kitten Care Responsibility

When a kitten leaves Shady Spots Cat Ranch, full responsibility for the kitten's wellbeing transfers to the buyer. This includes:

• Providing appropriate food, water, shelter, and enrichment
• Scheduling and maintaining regular veterinary care
• Continuing the vaccination schedule started at our ranch
• Keeping the kitten in a safe, indoor environment
• Following the care guidance provided at the time of adoption

All Bengal kittens from Shady Spots Cat Ranch are sold as indoor-only pets. Allowing a kitten to roam outdoors unsupervised is a violation of our adoption terms and may void the health guarantee.

Safe Return Policy

If at any time a buyer is no longer able to care for a kitten or cat adopted from Shady Spots Cat Ranch, they agree to contact Dawn DeLay before rehoming the cat to any other person or organization. We will work with the buyer to arrange a safe return or a responsible placement.

We do not want any cat that came from our ranch to end up in a shelter. If you are ever in a situation where you cannot keep your cat, please reach out to us first.

Spay and Neuter Requirement

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all pet-quality kittens from Shady Spots Cat Ranch are sold with a spay or neuter agreement. The buyer agrees to have the kitten spayed or neutered by the age recommended by their veterinarian, typically between five and seven months of age.

Kittens sold with breeding rights are subject to a separate written agreement and pricing. Breeding rights are not included in standard pet-quality placements.

Virtual Visits

We offer virtual visits via FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet, or WhatsApp Video so prospective buyers can meet kittens before committing. Virtual visits are offered as a courtesy and do not guarantee availability or reserve a kitten.

Virtual visit requests are subject to Dawn's availability and are typically scheduled within a few days of your inquiry. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Pickup and Delivery

Kittens are typically available for pickup at our ranch in Silver Springs, Nevada. Travel arrangements or ground transport may be available in certain cases and will be discussed during the inquiry process.

Shady Spots Cat Ranch does not ship kittens by air cargo. All transport arrangements prioritize the safety and comfort of the kitten.

Accuracy of Information

We make every effort to ensure the information on this website is accurate and up to date. However, details such as kitten availability, pricing, vaccination schedules, and litter timelines may change. Always confirm current details directly with Dawn before making any decisions based on information found on this website.

Limitation of Liability

Shady Spots Cat Ranch is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or from the adoption of a kitten, beyond the terms expressly stated in the written health guarantee provided at the time of adoption.

We are not responsible for third-party platforms, services, or websites linked from our site, including Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be reflected on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of this website after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.
